You have exclusive use of this large three-bedroom house, which is ideal for families in between house moves, working people on contract and groups on a budget seeking a base to explore Ayrshire, Burns Country, South West Scotland, Glasgow, the Clyde Valley, The Trossachs and beyond.

Recently refurbished, Rankin House can sleep 6 – one double bedroom, one double sofa bed in the living room and two twin rooms. It comes furnished with a fully equipped kitchen. Furnished with a fully equipped kitchen.

The area

The house is situated close to the beautiful Dean Castle Country Park – a free day out for all the family and covers over 200 acres. Not only does the Park have a beautiful 14th century castle, containing historic weapons, armour and musical instruments, but you can also enjoy the parks beautiful woodland walks, adventure playground, the pets corner, visitor centre, and the tearooms.

The internationally famous Scottish poet was born several miles away making Rankin House is an ideal base to explore the diverse attractions that comprise Burns Country. Spend a day at Burns’ Cottage and the fantastic Robert Burns Birthplace Museum set in 10 acres of beautiful Alloway countryside and which houses the biggest and most important Burns collection in the world, including his writing set, pistols and even a cast of his skull.

Other closer Burns attractions include the Bachelors’ Club in Tarbolton, the 17th century thatched cottage where Burns established his debating club, and the Burns House Museum in Mauchline where Robert Burns lived and worked between 1784 and 1788.

Transport

It is only 5 minutes from the A77 providing rapid access to Glasgow city centre (40 minutes), Ayr (20 minutes), Galston and the Newmilns lace making valley (20 minutes), on to Edinburgh in (1.5 hours) and Irvine (20 minutes). There is a bus stop only a few minutes walk away with regular busses into Kilmarnock taking about 15 minutes.
