MILTON KEYNES

The house

This three bedroom home is in Bletchley, a suburb of Milton Keynes,  and sleeps up to six guests. It’s perfect for contractors working locally and visitors on a budget. Guests would be sharing facilities with the host, who resides downstairs, though exclusive use of the property, and extra double bed in the study, is available when booked for five or more people.

There is all you need to have a comfortable stay: a well-stocked kitchen, washing machine and dining area for up to six people, with a TV and internet. Bedrooms are located on the first floor: one double room, one twin and a single room. Downstairs, the front door opens off a small private yard with outside seating, into the kitchen-diner. Guests can make use of the free Wi-Fi, Apple TV and Netflix. Parking is free and located on the street 50 metres away. This is a pleasant home but not a luxury house – it’s comfortable and clean, looked after by a professional housekeeper.

PERFECT FOR CONTRACTORS

The area

The home itself is situated in an exceptionally wooded area with walking access to the countryside and the delightful Blue Lagoon Local Nature Reserve which is a former brickworks. Bletchley is home of the Second World War Code Breakers, and guests can visit local Bletchley Park which remains open throughout the year. There are two neighbourhood centres within a five-minute walk, which have an ASDA supermarket, fish and chip shop, Costa Coffee, Chinese restaurant, pharmacy and traditional baker. The area is ex-social housing, built when Milton Keynes was first developed as a New City in 70s. Whilst the area itself looks untended and would benefit from some regeneration, it is a quiet and peaceful family suburb.

Transport

Buses to Bletchley, Milton Keynes Central and the rail station are every 7 mins from 6am – 11pm. The bust stop is just 300 yards from the house. For those who enjoy walking, Bletchley station is 40 minutes walk via the nature trails through the Blue Lagoon, or alternatively there are routes on foot through the housing areas.
